NCR Atleos AllTM Makes the Retail ATM a Deposit Point: What It Means for Store Cash Counting
Short answer: On 5 November 2026 NCR Atleos launched AllTM, a small-footprint ATM solution for US retailers that combines cash withdrawals, consumer deposits, store deposits, bill payment and cardless transactions in one unit, with Atleos managing the operational side. The launch shows where retail cash is heading: the in-store ATM is becoming a deposit point as well as a dispenser. For store owners, cash-in-transit partners and distributors, that raises the value of accurate back-office counting, sorting and bundling before cash ever reaches a deposit slot.
What did NCR Atleos announce?
In a Business Wire release dated 5 November 2026, NCR Atleos (NYSE: NATL) introduced AllTM as "an ATM solution that helps US retailers transform the ATM from a traditional cash access point into a powerful driver of foot traffic, customer engagement and revenue growth." The company says the offering is designed for retailers ranging from single-store operators to large national chains, and that it brings together a retail offering Atleos has been running for years into one package that is easier to evaluate and deploy.
Steven Nogalo, General Manager, North America for Atleos, described the goal as turning the ATM into "a high-frequency financial destination that serves customers where they already shop." Atleos also states that its research shows ATM users can spend more in-store than non-users, and that many make a purchase during the same visit.
Which services does AllTM bring into the store?
According to the release, a single AllTM unit can offer:
- Cash withdrawals
- Consumer deposits
- Store deposits
- Bill payment
- Cardless transactions and other self-service financial services
The two deposit functions are the most interesting part for cash-handling teams. Consumer deposits bring customers' cash into the machine, and store deposits let the retailer itself drop takings into the unit instead of preparing a bank bag for a branch visit or courier pickup. Atleos frames this as a way to "deliver cash management benefits within the store" and to "solve growing labor and cash handling challenges."

Why does a retail deposit ATM matter for back-office cash equipment?
A deposit-capable machine on the shop floor does not remove the need to count cash. It moves the moment of truth. When takings go into a self-service deposit, the retailer's own count is the figure that gets compared with what the machine accepts and what the bank later credits. Any gap between the till report, the back-office count and the deposit record becomes a reconciliation job, and reconciliation is labour.
Three practical points follow for store managers and the distributors who supply them:
- Count by value, not just by piece. A mixed till holds several denominations. A value counter that totals by denomination produces a figure that can be matched to the point-of-sale report before the deposit is made.
- Keep a record. Machines that print or export a denomination report give the manager something to attach to the shift close and to compare with the deposit receipt.
- Do not forget coins. Retail ATMs handle notes. Coin takings from tills, vending and laundry still need counting and bagging separately, often on the same shift.
Which Easy-Banker machines fit a store-deposit workflow?
For note counting, the LD-1687 mixed-value banknote counter counts mixed denominations and totals the value, prints a per-denomination report through its RS232 printer port, and detects counterfeits with UV, MG and 2CIS for USD, EUR, GBP and CAD. It also captures serial numbers for EUR and USD, which helps when a deposit discrepancy has to be traced. Speed is adjustable at 800, 1000, 1200 or 1500 notes per minute.
For coins, the CS-5505 coin sorter counts and sorts mixed coins into drawers, showing total value and coin quantity on one large LCD screen, at 350 coins per minute with a 0 to 999 batch preset. Its listed applications include retail stores, restaurants, vending operators and post offices.
Where counted notes are strapped before storage or a courier handover, the JB-412 banding machine ties a bundle in under 2 seconds with OPP film or hot-melt paper tape. Note that the JB-412 has no counterfeit detection function; detection happens at the counting step.

Is this only a US story?
AllTM is announced for US retailers. The underlying trend is wider. Banks in many markets are closing or slimming branches and pushing cash services into retail locations and self-service machines. Our earlier coverage of the Diebold Nixdorf and Euronet cash recycling collaboration pointed the same way on the bank side. Distributors outside the US should watch which deposit models their local banks and ATM operators adopt, because the back-office counting standard tends to follow the deposit channel.
FAQ
When was NCR Atleos AllTM announced?
NCR Atleos announced AllTM in a press release dated 5 November 2026 from Atlanta, Georgia.
Does AllTM accept store deposits?
Yes. The release lists store deposits alongside cash withdrawals, consumer deposits, bill payment and cardless transactions.
Do retailers still need a money counter if they have a deposit ATM?
In practice, yes. The store's own count is what the deposit is reconciled against. A value counter with a denomination report shortens that reconciliation and flags differences before cash leaves the back office.
Is AllTM available outside the United States?
The announcement describes AllTM as a solution for US retailers. It does not mention other markets.
